About Us
Rock-It-Ball is now played in over 16 countries and is growing in popularity on a day to day basis. It's a great sport that allows participation at all levels.
The sport was invented by 3 men from North Yorkshire: Paul Law, Bob Eldridge and Paul Hildreth. It is through their vision that we have this amazing new sport to get involved in.
Rock-It-Ball was officially launched at the Youth Sport Trust’s Sports Colleges Conference in Telford. Overwhelming response!
In December 2006 the International Rock-It-Ball Federation was set up by Craig Buttery (Commissioner) Paul Hildreth (Executive Director) and Bob Eldridge (Executive Director).
Since this time we have installed 7 National Governing Bodies, instigated the World Cup, National Leagues and brought on line 4 further versions of the sport and it looks like its not going to stop there. Such is the popularity of the sport that it has widely been tipped for Olympic recognition, however there is an awful lot of work to do before we reach that lofty goal.

Coaches
Coaching can be one of the more gratifying aspects of involvement in sport. We get the chance to shape young people into athletes and responsible members of society.
|
Referees
Like all sports Rock-It-Ball requires game day officials and this can range from a single Referee for a local league game to 1 Referee, 2 Umpires, a score Keeper and a Time Keeper.

Volunteers
There are many roles within a club or team such as chairman, secretary, press officer, game day organiser and many others. Volunteers are such an important cog in the club that without them it can be difficult to sustain continuity. Everyone has a skill that can be used within a club set up and it does not have to take over your life. It may only be an hour a week.
For our older volunteers the experience and skills that you have built over the years can be a huge asset to any club. Iin fact many people who have retired are starting to give a little time to help run clubs. Remember - if we can create opportunities for our young people to stay out of trouble the better it is for them and the rest of the community.
So if you have retired and have too much time on your hands, get in touch with your local team and volunteer your time.
It goes to say that we also need help at many different levels. Our leagues need volunteers and managers, press officers, printers, marketing etc so again get in touch. In fact email us through volunteer@playrock-It-ball.com. Let us know what skills you have and we will see if we can match you up with a role in Rock-It-Ball.
